Regulations of the 25th International Nida Half Marathon and Lithuanian Half Marathon Championship



GENERAL PART

Non-profit organization VsI “Kuršių Legendos,” together with the Municipality of Neringa, the Lithuanian Athletics Federation, non-profit organization Klaipėda Athletics Academy, and the Klaipėda Runners Sports Club “Maratonas,” is organizing and conducting the 25th Nida Half Marathon Run on the 27th of September, 2025.

The Lithuanian Half Marathon Championship is held in accordance with the LLAF regulations.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

  1. Encourage the public to engage in sports and take an interest in sports events;

  2. Popularize running and athletics in Lithuania;

  3. Promote physical activity and running as a healthy lifestyle;

  4. Identify the fastest runners across different age groups;

  5. Extend the tourism season in Neringa.

DISTANCES

During the event, participants will be able to compete in the following distances:

  • Nida Half Marathon – 21.098 km;

  • 5 km YIT run;

  • 2 km children’s run;

  • 0.5 km children’s run;

  • 0.21 km children’s run.

VENUE AND TIME

  • 10:00am – 0.210 km children’s run
    (Start at Cafe "Sakutis”, Naglių g. 14A; participants must arrive at the start area by 9:50am)

  • 10:10am – 0.5 km children’s run
    (Start before the Municipality of Neringa; participants must arrive at the start area by 10:00am)

  • 10:20am – 2 km children’s run
    (Start before the Municipality of Neringa; participants must arrive at the start area by 10:10am.)

  • 11:00am – 21.098 km Nida Half Marathon
    (Start at “Sakutis” café, Naglių g. 14A; participants must arrive at the start area by 10:50am.)

  • 1:00pm – 5 km YIT run
    (Start in Nida at the Catholic Church, Taikos g. 17; participants must arrive at the start area by 1:50pm.)

The exact start time and location may be subject to change.



TIME LIMIT

  • Half Marathon – 3 hours 30 minutes.

  • 5 km run – 1 hour 30 minutes.

On the day of the event, the electronic timing system will be turned off at 2:30pm, and time will not be recorded; city streets will be opened at 3:00pm.

PARTICIPANTS

  1. Anyone wishing to participate may do so by filling out a participant card, verifying their health, reviewing the competition regulations, and confirming these during registration. All participants run voluntarily, without any coercion, and assume full responsibility and risk (including various health issues, etc.) associated with participating in the run, and agree not to make any claims against the organizers.

  2. Runners must present a personal identification document when collecting their race number.

  3. By registering for the event, each participant also agrees that the organizers may freely use all photographs and video recordings taken during the event for marketing purposes without additional consent.

  4. Lithuanian citizens participating in the 21.098 km Nida Half Marathon run must have a valid certificate issued by the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency or an International Federation certificate confirming completion of anti-doping training, which must be presented when collecting the start number (a certificate issued by the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency can be obtained via the e-learning platform www.bedopingo.lt). Participants holding an international “I run clean” certificate do not need the additional LAA certificate. Participants in the 21.098 km distance who do not have an anti-doping training certificate may still run but will not be eligible for inclusion in the Lithuanian Championship ranking. Participants who present the certificate will be included in the Lithuanian Championship ranking organized by the Lithuanian Athletics Federation (LLAF), receiving an LLAF license. Participants agree that LLAF may manage their personal data responsibly in connection with the LLAF license. Participants will be able to view their results on the lengvoji.lt and WA (World Athletics) websites.

  5. Persons aged 18 and over may participate in the Nida Half Marathon event. The age groups for participants in the Nida Half Marathon are:





6. For minors participating in runs of all distances in the event, their parents or coaches assume full responsibility.

7. By registering, the participant confirms that they understand that participating in the event involves a significant test of human physical capabilities, and further confirms that they have checked their health, comply with the health check requirements stipulated in the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, and will provide a certificate confirming their health condition upon request by the organizers or other persons. In case of any doubts regarding an unsuitable health condition, the participant must, upon the organizers’ request, withdraw from the event and consult a doctor.

8. The participant understands and confirms that the organizers are not responsible for, and will not compensate for, any harm caused to the participant’s health or life. All risks and responsibilities for any health disturbances, injuries, and accidents occurring during the event rest solely with the participant.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

  1. Registration for any running distance can only be done in one’s own name. Transferring one’s participant number to another participant is prohibited. In such cases, participants will be disqualified, and their results will not be included in the competition records.

  2. The participant may change the chosen distance during registration; the fee for changing the distance is 10 Eur. When changing the distance, the difference between the amount paid and the registration fee for the chosen distance must also be paid on the day of the change. The participant may change any incorrectly provided information during registration (such as name, surname, club/team name, or any other information); the fee for changing the registration form information is 5 Eur. Changes are permitted until September 24 at 6:00pm.

  3. Registration data changes are processed when the participant pays for the service and notifies the organizers via email at bekime42@gmail.com, sending the payment receipt along with the desired changes.

  4. It is prohibited for individuals who have been confirmed with Covid-19 or who have had contact with persons suffering from Covid-19, as well as for those with a fever, experiencing shortness of breath, or chest pain while at rest, to participate in the event.

  5. Each participant in the competition must have their number properly affixed to their shirt. The number must be on the front (chest) in a clearly visible place.

  6. It is prohibited to run on the race course without the participant number clearly affixed. Participants running without a number will be disqualified.

  7. Participants and their supporters are strictly prohibited from using any means of transport (e.g., bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled vehicles). Participants who violate this rule will be disqualified.

  8. During the competition, participants are prohibited from receiving any personal assistance. Those who violate this rule will be disqualified.

  9. During the event, it is prohibited to lead or run with any animals on the course. Participants who do not adhere to this prohibition will be disqualified.

  10. Each running participant must affix the participant number along with the electronic timing chip to their shirt. Participants who have not attached or have improperly attached the electronic timing chip will not have their time recorded, and such participants will not be included in the competition results.

  11. The electronic chips are single-use; they do not need to be returned after the event.

  12. It is prohibited for competition participants to deviate from the running course without the permission of the referee. Participants who violate this rule will be disqualified.

  13. Any claims by participants must be submitted in writing to the chief referee no later than 30 minutes after the end of the competition. By submitting a claim, the participant must pay a fee of 100 Eur, which will be refunded only if the appeals committee (marathon director, chief referee, LLAF representative) upholds the claim. Until the participant pays this fee, the claim will not be considered.

SPECIAL POINTS ON THE COURSE

  • On the half marathon course, refreshment points will be set up where water and fruits will be distributed to the participants. These refreshment and rehydration points will be located approximately every 5 km.

  • Portable toilets will be set up for the participants along the half marathon course.

SERVICES FOR PARTICIPANTS

  • On the day of the event, participants can leave their belongings in a storage facility. Items must be placed in a zip-lock or tie-lock sports bag.

  • Portable toilets will be provided at the participants’ meeting points.

AWARDS

  1. Winners (1st to 3rd places) of the Lithuanian Half Marathon Championship – female and male (only Lithuanian citizens holding a valid certificate issued by the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency or an International Federation certificate confirming completion of anti-doping training [the certificate issued by the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency can be obtained via the e-learning platform www.bedopingo.lt]; participants holding an international “I run clean” certificate do not need an additional LAA certificate) – will be awarded LLAF medals and diplomas.

  2. Winners (1st to 3rd places) of the Nida Half Marathon – female and male – will be awarded trophies; winners (1st to 6th places) – will receive cash prizes.

  3. The overall winners (first place) of the Nida Half Marathon (female and male) will each receive a free double occupancy room for two nights during the next year’s run, regardless of the course. The rooms are reserved for winners only.

  4. Winners (1st to 3rd places) in all age groups in the Nida Half Marathon, both female and male, will be awarded prizes.

  5. All participants in the half marathon will receive certificates.

  6. Winners (1st to 3rd places) of the 5 km run – female and male – will receive prizes.

  7. Winners (1st to 3rd places) in age groups for the 2 km and 0.5 km runs will be awarded diplomas and prizes.

  8. For the 0.21 km run, all participants who complete the distance independently will be awarded promotional souvenirs.

  9. The fastest runners from Neringa – the fastest male and the fastest female who complete the half marathon distance – will be awarded a trophy and a prize.

  10. The youngest and the oldest participants will be awarded prizes.

  11. The team with the highest participation in both the half marathon and the 5 km run will be awarded a trophy.

  12. All finishers will receive promotional souvenirs!

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION FEE

  1. The participant registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another participant.

  2. If free registration is obtained from a company, partner, or another third party, the registration fee is non-refundable.

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION AND NUMBER DISTRIBUTION

  1. Participants can register on the websites https://timingapp.lt and www.nidarun.lt until 00:00am on September 22, 2025.

  2. A participant is considered registered once the registration fee is paid through the Paysera system. If not registered by September 22, registration is still possible on September 26 upon arrival in Nida.

  3. On September 26, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, registration and number distribution will take place at the Nida Cultural and Tourism Information Center “Agila”, Taikos g. 4.

  4. On September 27, registration will not be held; only number distribution will be conducted at the Nida Cultural and Tourism Information Center “Agila”, Taikos g. 4.

  5. Half marathon numbers are distributed from 8:00am to 10:30am.

  6. Numbers for the 2 km, 0.5 km, and 0.21 km runs are distributed from 8:00am to 9:30am.

  7. Numbers for the 5 km run are distributed from 8:00am to 11:00am.

  8. A participant may collect another participant’s number only by presenting a copy of the personal identification document of the participant for whom the number is being collected.

  9. The organizers reserve the right to change the competition rules and the racecourse.
